I’m a huge fan of the book, and after we got a sneak peak of the international trailer two weeks ago, I’m happy to report that we finally have a chance to check out the first official trailer for The 5th Wave movie. Based on Rick Yancey’s popular 2013 novel of the same name, the story focuses on an alien invasion of earth, (which comes in successive waves), and the remaining few survivors, who take up the fight.
This trailer includes a couple of new scenes that weren’t shown in the international sneak peak, such as the youth training camps; the experience of Cassie and her classmates at school when the invasion begins; and some interesting interactions between Cassie and the supporting characters.
Starring Chloe Grace Moretz in the role of heroine Cassie Sullivan, the film also includes Nick Robinson as Ben Parish, Alex Roe as Evan Walker, and Liev Schreiber as Colonel Vosch.
I’m holding out for a successful and faithful adaption of the book – readers, what do you think of what we’ve seen so far?
The 5th Wave is set for release on January 15, 2016.
