Film News: Jennifer Lawrence In Talks for ‘The Glass Castle’

After an Oscar nomination and the major success of The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence has been booking projects left and right. Deadline reports that Lawrence is in talks to star in Lionsgate’s The Glass Castle, based on the memoir of gossip columnist Jeanette Walls.

Critically well received when it was published in 2005, Walls’ book was a surprise because it focused on her difficult childhood with her “dysfunctional but vibrant” family. It was on The New York Times bestseller list for over 250 weeks, the longest for any memoir.

Deadline also points out that Lionsgate is starting to change direction with the types of movies they produce. After the success of Hunger Games and Twilgiht (Summit recently merged with Lionsgate), they’re exploring less “testosterone movies.” As a girl, I can’t complain about that! In addition, the story looks rather interesting, and obviously it’s proven that it’s popular. It’s an interesting move for Jennifer and Lionsgate, and I’m curious to see how this project develops.
