In the midst of young adult novels surfacing as potential film franchises, Sony is one step ahead of the game by getting the rights to a book that isn’t even in stores. The book named “Boy Nobody” by Allen Zadoff is the first in a trilogy in which it’s main character is a Jason Bourne of sorts a brainwashed teenage assasin, according to the author he is a “young soldier trained not to feel; who could function in every situation without fear, sympathy or anger; who could assassinate strangers and then walk away emotionally unscathed”. And so far, once this deal is closed, they’re appointing Jaden Smith so star on the role and possibly carry out the franchise.
Do you think Jaden Smith can carry out an action film like “Boy Nobody” seems to be? Or the whole franchise? Let’s keep in mind that besides “The Pursuit of Happyness” and “The Karate Kid” there hasn’t been much going on with Jaden in big Hollywood films. Right now, he is working with his father Will Smith for M. Night Shyamalan’s “After Earth“.
Besides the fact that they want to cast him for this film, I am excited to find out why Sony was so eager to get ahead and try to get a deal for a movie adaptation of a book that isn’t even out yet. I really want to see what “Boy Nobody” is about once it hits shelves next Spring.
