It’s hard not to be drawn to a news article that promises any new pictures of Hugh Jackman. So this fulfils my own personal love for this actor, but if you love Jackman as much as I do you will be interested in seeing these pictures too! Director Tom Hooper who won Best Director and Best Picture for his film The King’s Speech in 2010 has been laying low for the past year. But if the rumors about his next film, ‘Les Misérables‘ have any substance to them, it’s more than likely he’ll be back in the spotlight again next year.
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
With a star-studded cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Amanda Seyfried, among others, Les Misérables is already looking like an early favorite for the 2013 awards season. The first set photos of Jackman in costume as protagonist Jean Valjean are finally here.
