It’s looking to be a pretty big week for trailers. Among them is a trailer for The Intern, a new film from Nancy Meyers.
When I first read the premise, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Stories that deal with age can either feel very authentic or ridiculously phony, packed with clichés about how the young don’t know any better and the old are out of touch. However, after watching the trailer for The Intern, it seems like they struck that fine balance between making fun of older and newer generations and acknowledging that each generation can teach the other a lot from their own experiences.
Robert De Niro seems pretty adorable and shares a great chemistry with co-star, Anne Hathaway. Also, the supporting cast is SO worth boasting about; it includes: Anders Holm, Rene Russo, Andrew Rannells, Adam DeVine, Celia Weston, and Nat Wolff. You can read the official description of the film below:
Director: Nancy Meyers

In “The Intern,” Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) is a 70-year-old widower who has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway).
