I love period dramas, so this was going to always appeal to me. With a lead by a strong willed, feminist female lead and it’s an obvious choice. With some amazingly talented up and comers on board, visuals that are likened to Atonement and based on the loss of a generation the film is sure to pack an emotional wallop.
Hitting theaters June 5th check out the synopsis and trailer below.
Testament of Youth is a powerful story of love, war and remembrance, based on the First World War memoir by Vera Brittain, which has become the classic testimony of that war from a woman’s point of view. A searing journey from youthful hopes and dreams to the edge of despair and back again, it’s a film about young love, the futility of war and how to make sense of the darkest times.
