Have you ever wondered what it would be like if some of Disney’s most iconic villains had children of their own? Well, Disney Channel is going to explore this idea with their upcoming original movie entitled Descendants.
The musical adventure comedy will center on the teenage children of Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Jafar, and the evil Queen in a present-day kindgom. After being imprisoned on a remote island with other infamous villains, the quartet are set free to join the rest of society by Ben- heir to the throne and the son of Belle and the Beast- who offers them a chance at redemption. We meet Mal (Dove Cameron), Jay (Booboo Stewart), Evie (Sofia Carson), and Carlos (Cameron Boyce) as they attend a prep school where they run into the offspring of some of Disney’s greatest heroes (such as Mulan’s daughter Lonnie, Dopey’s son Doug, and Cinderella’s son Chad).
The movie also stars Wendy Raquel Robinson as Cruella de Vil, Maz Jobrani as Jafar, Kathy Najimy as the evil Queen, and Kristin Chenoweth as Maleficent.
The movie is directed by Kenny Ortega, the director of High School Musical, set to premiere this year.
My Disney Channel days have been over for a while, but I think I’m gonna check this one out.
