Marvel’s first featurette for Avengers: Age of Ultron, now barely a month from release, brings the spotlight on new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Elizabeth Olson and Aaron Taylor Johnson, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff (AKA Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver) were two characters that Joss Whedon wanted to bring to life the most since his joining with Marvel to direct the Avengers films.

Some who aren’t privy to comic’s lore may recognize the name Quicksilver as Evan Peter’s portrayal in last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Pietro Maximoff was the exclusively unique case, outside of the recent Spider-Man announcements, that legally belong to both Marvel Studios and Fox, the reason for which is that the Maximoff twins have a history as both X-Men and as Avengers. But no worry, he is still the same snide speedster.
