The attention that “Hugo” was given for its production design at its release leads me to believe that they will take the period film award. As an avid Harry Potter fan predisposed to bias it wouldn’t surprise me to see “Deathly Hallows Pt 2” win the fantasy film category given that this is the last time it will be nominated for awards. As for the contemporary film category, my guess is for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” to win.
The winners will be announced on Saturday, February 4, 2012.
