Tommy Lee Jones is known for his interesting roles and films. This time around, he not only stars but takes the director and producer seat for The Homesman. The first trailer for this upcoming western drama was released this week. It’s an adaptation from Glendon Swarthout’s 1988 novel and it tells the story of a pioneer woman and a man who team up to to escort three troubled women from Nebraska to Iowa.
The film has quite cast that also includes Hilary Swank, Miranda Otto, Jesse Plemmons, James Spader, Hailee Steinfeld, William Fichtner, Tim Blake Nelson, Meryl Streep and it’s expected to premiere at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival next month.
Jones is no newbie as a director. He took that role for The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada back in 2005. Although no official US release date has been set yet, you can watch and enjoy the trailer for The Homesman below.
