I’m currently in that weird, can’t breathe state of fangirl euphoria right now. The first trailer for the adaptation of Gayle Forman’s stunning novel, If I Stay, just premiered on MTV. And it. is. amazing. Watch the trailer below while I gather my thoughts.
Okay, thoughts are (somewhat) gathered. The trailer has a perfect opening, watching Chloe Grace Moretz as Mia on stage playing the cello. It adds a slightly haunting quality instantly and sets the tone for the type of story If I Stay tells. The trailer then goes to show the life that Mia has, a specific focus on her rocker boyfriend, Adam, played by Jamie Blackley. And then it happens. The crash and the choice–the biggest and most devastating choice anyone could ever make. After losing your family, should you stay or should you go?
If the trailer is any indication, it looks like this will be faithful and great adaptation of Forman’s amazing and unforgettable story. Right now, I couldn’t ask for anything more (besides a time machine to take me into the future, so I can see this movie NOW!)
