Jon Favreau. A familiar name to anyone who has seen most Iron Man films. But today, he puts his “Happy” role aside to do a little cooking for us. Just a few weeks ago, Favreau’s latest indie film entitled Chef screened in the SXSW and it got some very positive reviews. The trailer for the film has just been released, so if you are hungry…or just really into food…you will enjoy it very much.
Chef tells the story of Carl Casper (Jon Favreau), a Chef who suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife, a friend and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen — and zest for life and love.
The film – scheduled to be released on May 9th – is directed, written and starred by Favreau but it also includes names sucha as Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, Dustin Hoffman, John Leguizamo, Robert Downey Jr. and Oliver Platt. Now that’s what I call a great cast.
