“The sun’ll come out tomorrow! Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow…there’ll be sun!” We all remember the lyrics to this one, right? Well, prepare to sing it once more this December, when a new version of the classic ‘Annie‘ arrives to cinemas!
The film, directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends With Benefits, TV’s The Michael J. Fox Show), tells the story of a little orphan named Annie – played by Beasts of the Southern Wild’s Quvenzhane Wallis) who stumbles in the life of businessman Benjamin Stacks (played by Jamie Foxx) who happens to be running for mayor and is in need of a good image boost for his campaign. Being a more modern take on the classic musical, be on the lookout for some Facebook and George Clooney references (why George Clooney?).
Annie hits theaters on December 19th and is produced by Jay Z (so expect a few good upbeat songs and musical numbers here and there) and Will Smith. Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne and Bobby Canavale also star. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think!
