Ubisoft has been making quite the splash recently with talk of adapting some of its games into full fledged feature films. The latest news comes directly from the source itself. In a recent press release Ubisoft announces a partnership with Sony in attempts to develop a “full-length feature film based on the Rabbids, the irreverent, wacky characters from the popular TV series and videogames.” As mentioned, these quirky characters have already made their animated debut on Nickelodeon with their French television show, Rabbids Invasion.
Although Sony Pictures will be behind the development of the project, it will be overseen by Ubisoft Motion Pictures. Ubisoft’s unique approach to film making grants them the opportunity to be backed by a bigger studio while still being able to actively participate in the film’s production.
