James Franco is known for portraying very peculiar characters in films. I don’t know about you, but I think he does it very well and always brings something new to the table. Maladies is the name of a new film that should come easily to Franco.
Directed and written by American artist called Carter (this would be his feature film debut), the film tells the story of James, a very talented and successful young actor, who has to deal with some mental illness issues and life with his sister and best friend. It also stars Catherine Keener, David Strathairn, Fallon Goodson, Alan Cumming, Mary Beth Peil and will have a limited opening on March 21 but will open nationwide on VOD and iTunes on March 25.
So far, the trailer looks good and it might be worth a watch. We can expect to see more from James Franco in his upcoming films ‘Good People‘, ‘Every Thing Will Be Fine‘, ‘Yosemite‘, ‘Memoria‘ and ‘Black Dog, Red Dog‘ to be released later this year.
