[tps_title]2. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Dec. 25th)[/tps_title]
Much like ADAM SANDLER in films like “Punch Drunk Love” and “Spanglish”, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” shows us a side of BEN STILLER that I wish we got to see more often. While “Greenberg” was a movie with a lot of unrealized potential, Stiller was excellent in it. The big difference, I guess, between Sandler and Stiller is that Stiller is a bit more conscious of the movies he chooses to put out to the public. Stiller directs this film, and if you need an example of how good he is behind the camera, just look at the other movies he’s directed: “Reality Bites”, “The Cable Guy”, “Zoolander”, and “Tropic Thunder”. All of those movies are great in their own right. In this film he plays Walter Mitty, a LIFE Magazine writer that lives inside a world full of adventures in the hopes of finding a missing picture needed for the final issue of LIFE in order to save his job and the job of his co-worker, Cheryl Melhoff (KRISTEN WIIG), which just so happens to be the woman he pines for. The film also co-starts SEAN PENN and ADAM SCOTT (PARKS AND RECTION). This is another one of the movies coming out on Christmas day, and may just be the perfect fit for anyone looking for something beautiful and uplifting to pair with their holiday spirit. I am very much looking forward to this.
