Considering the weather is currently going through an identity crisis and summer technically doesn’t end until September 21st, we thought why not squeeze out one last Best of Summer List.
We’ve grown annoyed with all the chatter of how awful this summer was in terms of movies and the fact is, that’s the complaint every.single.year.
You’re going to be disappointed by films, it’s unavoidable, but that doesn’t make a summer a bust and typically the greats are the ones that you have to look a little harder for. That doesn’t mean that the blockbusters weren’t worth it (Iron Man 3 and Pacific Rim made me giddy like a ten year old) but the big name dropping hitters like Will Smiths After Earth, Matt Damon’s Elysium and Johnny Depp’s The Lone Ranger were all embarrassing failures to the studios that allowed for the name to outweigh the quality.
