A panel that I was very looking forward to was Universal’s “Snow White and The Huntsman” for the simple fact that they haven’t even started filming yet so I wondered what would they show as footage for the panel. On stage, there were the film’s director, Rupert Sanders, producers Palak Patel and Joe Roth as well as the cast, Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman), Charlize Theron (The Evil Queen) and Sam Claflin (The Prince).
During the panel, Rupert Sanders work was shown, he is the director behind the commercials for Halo and Call of Duty: Black Ops, in my opinion its impressive on behalf of Universal to let Sanders’ first film to be “Snow White and The Huntsman“, that not only does it have a great ensemble cast, but it will be Sanders’ major task to make this Snow White movie more appealing than Relativity Media’s untitled Snow White project that is going to be directed by Tarsem Singh. This topic was of course, talked about during the panel, Sanders mentioned how back in 1998 that “Armageddon” and “Deep Impact” basically had the same plot were released within months of each other, yet audiences went to see both. Sanders also mentioned how SWATH is looking forward to be a trilogy and will look more like the Lord of The Rings movies, in the sense that this movie will be a lot darker and will not look as “soft” as Universal’s take on the tale, here referring to the recently released picture of Lily Collins as Snow White.
A clip was shown during the panel, none of the actors were in it obviously, where we could perceive which direction Sanders is going with SWATH. It seems very action packed and darker than what I was expecting it to be. Also, there are originally 8 dwarves, SPOILER ALERT: One of them dies so then it would be the original 7 dwarves but I guess that because of copyright issues or whatnot there couldn’t be 7 at the beginning of the film. Then, we were shown pictures of the cast in their costumes which were taken 2 weeks before Comic-Con. Here they are:

The movie is without a doubt not what I would expect of the Snow White tale, it seems more of a Joan of Arc with the sword and shield, I’m excited to see what Universal’s Snow White will be like and just like I saw both “Deep Impact” and “Armageddon” I want to see both first and then decide which one I like best.

Here’s a video of me (Lucy) and Gaby asking Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth questions during the panel. Excuse our nervousness.
