Oscar Buzz: Directors, Writers, Producers Guilds & BAFTA Awards Nominations

Pictures2

As we get closer and closer to Oscar nominations, guilds and other industry associations are announcing their nominees for the best in film of 2012.

The guild awards are generally the best indicator of what or who will be nominated for an Academy Awards. Academy members usually are part of some guild, so it would make sense to pay extra attention to the DGA, PGA and WGA nominees and winners. In the case for WGA, many major contenders’ scripts (Django Unchained is one example) are ineligible for WGA, but are eligible for Oscar. As for the BAFTAs, they haven’t always proven to be a consistent predictor for the Oscars. However, as with any awards season ceremony, it helps narrow down the contenders.

Below are all of the nominations for the Directors, Writers, Producers Guilds and BAFTA Awards.
