Just as promised on social media this past weekend, Disney and Lucasfilm have given us one final trailer at Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to celebrate tickets going on sale; and it delivered.
The slightly longer look doesn’t give us much more insight into the conclusion to The Skywalker Saga than we already had, but it’s near impossible to not be drawn in by the new take on the classic series fanfare meant to highlight this entry’s finality.
We do get a look at more locations – including what appears to be a frozen Imperial fleet, a detailed glimpse of the ruins of the second Death Star that we’ll see Rey and Kylo Ren hash their issues out in (and maybe decide to bury the hatchet, if another scene of them together is a clue.)
There is also plenty of other surprising and exciting teases, from Finn leading an army on horseback to what appears to be some sort of sacrifice from C-3PO as he says goodbye to his friends, and maybe even one glimpse of good ol’ Sheev Palpatine himself, somehow in the flesh.
Check out the full synopsis of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker below and let us know if you’re ready for the saga to end on December 20th.
Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.
