Fresh off the endearingly funny romantic comedy, Set It Up, Netflix releases its first trailer for the YA adaptation of Jenny Han’s bestselling novel, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. The first teaser trailer introduces us to Lara Jean (Lana Condor), a teen girl who feels invisible at her high school. When she has a crush, she writes him a letter but never mails it out… until one day her secret love letters are mysteriously sent out and now she must confront her crushes, including Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), and the feelings that come with them all.
To say I’ve been excited to see Lara Jean Song Covey come to life on screen and see her experience the ups-and-downs of high school life as well as her love life is an understatement. I adore Han’s trilogy of YA novels that explore the complexities of first love, sisterhood, and grief. But the heart of those novels is undoubtedly Lara Jean, whose sweet and insightful disposition makes her a compelling protagonist. We undoubtedly support her quest to not only find love but to succeed in whatever obstacles come her way.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before debuts globally August 17, 2018, only on Netflix.
