As a child, you would watch and rewatch all of your favorite animated movies and wished that they were real. Sometimes you would use your imagination to make it so. Well, there’s no need for that anymore. Take your imagination and chuck it into the trash because Disney is continuing its streak of taking your childhood favorite animated films and giving them the live action treatment. The newest film(/victim) is childhood-defining Winnie the Pooh.
Riding off the success of Paddington and Peter Rabbit, Christoper Robin is here to remind us of just how much the joys of childhood are missing in our adult lives. Unlike the somber, bleak Finding Christoper Robin, this film looks heartfelt, endearing, and enormously tear-inducing. Yes, I can already tell there will be many tears that will make me take an introspective look at my adult life and realize I need to re-examine my priorities. On top of that, the film looks pretty funny, especially when Winnie the Pooh is there channeling that one dumb friend we all have that sometimes accidentally says things that are both painfully simple, yet profound.
