Oscar Season has officially begun, people! We’ve already seen a few promising contenders during the summer, but will they all make it to the final race? It’s time to find out. This week we introduce another possible film candidate starring the one and only Liam Neeson: Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House.
Directed by Peter Landesman (Parkland), the film promises to keep audiences intrigued while Neeson plays FBI special agent Mark Felt, better known as “Deep Throat”, an anonymous whistleblower who exposed the Watergate scandal back in 1972 to Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. The almost two-and-a-half minute trailer will leave you stunned with a very impressive performance given by Neeson. I dare say that this film will be a good opponent to watch during this new Oscars Season. We are ready to be surprised, Mr. Landesman.
Also starring Diane Lane, Tony Goldwyn, Josh Lucas, Michael C. Hall, Maika Monroe, Kate Walsh, and Tom Sizemore, Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival this week and will open in theaters on September 29th.
