Evan Griffin’s Most Anticipated for 2017
10. The End of 2016
You were all thinking it. I’m just saying it.
9. Justice League
HAHAHHAHHAHAHHAAHA. Oh my god. This is going to be fu*king awful.
8. Logan
This could either be a really excellent blend of The Last of Us and the comic plot Old Man Logan, or it could just be a disaster. Either way, there’s no possibility of me missing out on HUgh Jackman’s last turn as Wolverine after seeing every other one in the movie theater.
7. Thor: Ragnarok
The director of both Flight of the Conchords AND What We Do In The Shadows directing a THOR movie? With The Hulk?? AND JEFF GOLDBLUM? $$$$$$
6. Spider-Man Homecoming
Spidey will always be my favorite hero, and I’m glad to see a film where he actually is a high school student dealing with offbeat high school things like we always wanted him to be. It will be an absolute joy to have him as a part of the Marvel Universe and see him team up with Iron Man and who knows whoever else. Plus, the director promised a meshing with a John Hughes movie, which is exactly what I never knew I always wanted in a Spider-Man movie.
5. Mr. Robot Season 3
What happened at the end there??? Where is Eliott? What happened with Tyrell?? What is the Dark Army gonna do now? WHAT ARE CHINA?
4. Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
I put this on my list for most anticipated the last (two) years, but now the game actually has a name and a known premise, and it will be on Nintendo’s new hardware, so I can play it wherever I want!

3. Nintendo Switch
New hardware from Nintendo! This will be the ride or die moment for the House of Mario, and I hope that their new Nvidia run device is good enough to get all the acclaim and praise that the industry would so very much like to give it. It’s your move, Nintendo. Are you going to take the throne that anyone would entrust to you? Wilst thou fly? Or Wilst Thou suck?
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
The last entry in this franchise is a higher quality game than the last three Grand Theft Auto titles. There, I said it. I’ll ride off with Red Dead any day of the week in contention to GTA. Of course, the only trailer we’ve seen is proof of concept and a show off of the new engine, but the achievement in open world mapping and online posse settings in 2010 with the last game provided blueprints for what would be the current iteration of Grand Theft Auto online, and with that finally receiving the support that was clamored for, I’m sure some notes have been made on how to make this the definitive Rockstar Games online experience.
1. Star Wars Episode VIII
Who is Rey related to? Is Luke mad or just disappointed?? Did Captain Phasma survive the garbage pit? Is Kylo Ren actually Rey’s brother or Cousin? Or is he actually stronger in the Force than we thought and he’s actually a double agent for Luke?? I like that theory.
