The last of the 2014 fall season of releases trickle out in the first week of December, and Telltale surprises fans, yet again, with the launch of another new episodic series.
Telltale’s Game of Thrones: Episode 1 “Iron From Ice” (DIGITAL – on PC, 360, PS3, PS4. XOne)
Telltale Games has surprised fans two weeks in a row with the surprise launch of the first episodes for two new seasons of their story based adventure games: this week we’re given the Game Of Thrones Episode One “Iron From Ice.” Sporting the same comic style as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Tales From the Boarderlands, this Game of Thrones story is set between the HBO series’ seasons 3 and 5 (roughly between Storm of Swords and A Dance With Dragons for those who keep track via book events). While players will explore familiar lands of Westeros like Kings Landing and The Wall, and familiar faces will be encountered, the story is driven by new faces and locations in this elaborate chess game of war and death.

Ubisoft’s fifth (count em!) release this holiday season is the long awaited and many time delayed, The Crew, which invited players to an ambitious world in which they can literally drive coast to coast of the United States. Seriously. The game features jump in / jump out co-op driving and missions to play with your friends and strangers so you never have to take on Route I-95 alone, because Connecticut roads are always a disaster zone. You can customize your car, your route, and your experience how you like, and The Crew attempts to give you more exploration options than you can imagine any driving game ever could.

An indie game available for sale outside of early access on the Steam Store as of this Thursday, DoubleBear Productions’ RPG is of the narrative driven survival genre, set in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. Players can take on all the challenges of handling human survival amidst the undead, such as shelter fortification, rationing food, social engagement and alliance building as you take on the leadership of the last bastion of humanity in turn based action.
