This week, all the newest big titles have made way for this year’s Call of Duty to do its thing, and, in the meantime, a lot of last year’s critic’s favorites are re-released in higher resolution or with a Complete Edition. Here they are.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, X360)
Pre-order sales were way down for this year’s Call of Duty title, but earlier reviews are positive for Advanced Warfare, seeming to be the proper step the franchise has needed in the recent years, with a more inclusive multiplayer style for the noobs, and the split second twitch shooting rounds for veterans. Advanced Warfare incorporates loot systems, perks, weapons classes and sci-fi, near future technological ideas to fuel different play styles, mostly in verticality akin to last winter’s title, Titanfall. If all that isn’t enough, maybe Kevin Spacey as the game’s villain will excite you.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (PC, PS Vita, PS4)
The creators of Super Meat Boy baked up something morbidly adorable with The Binding of Isaac, one of last year’s biggest indie darlings, and the Rebirth, reworked on flash engine, will now have the game supported for the PlayStation 4. The game plays in a dungeon trekking manner like the original Legend of Zelda for NES, with randomized rooms, genuinely terrifying critters, and bosses and treasures to find in the nightmarish caverns below Isaac’s mother’s basement.

Harvest Moon 3D: The Lost Valley (Nintendo 3DS)
Harvest Moon was the life simulator underdog in the time when the most known games in the genre were Animal Crossing and The Sims. Now in a world beyond Farmville and Minecraft popularity, The Lost Valley allows players to dive into a three-dimensional world with untapped resources and creative potential, set on your path to dig, build and grow in honor of the Harvest Spirits. Oh yes, and the game allows you to get married and farm with your babies, too. Enjoy.

The Wolf Among Us (PC, PS3, X360. New to PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One)
Telltale once again brings a fantastic comic series to life in an inventive storytelling experience with The Wolf Among Us, based on Bill Willingham’s Fables. The point and click adventure game follows a man named Bigby Wolf, previously known as the notorious Big Bad Wolf, in the year 1986, when the homeland of mythical and legendary creatures and characters was overrun, forcing them to live in our “mundane world” of humans. Like The Walking Dead seasons, the player controls Bigby through the unfolding story and eventually is forced to make moral decisions that will then dictate the rest of the story.

Bioshock Infinite: Complete Edition (PC, PS3, X360)
The now disbanded Irrational Games at 2K Boston took four years to develop the spiritual sequel to the original Bioshock, but instead of an alternate reality within an Art Deco, undersea dystopia, Bioshock Infinite takes the formula in reverse: to the sky. The player is Booker Dweitt, a private detective sent to this remote city in the clouds called Columbia, led by a man driven mad by power to the point of portraying himself as a prophet of God. Your mission is to save a girl named Elizabeth from a tower, bash in, or burn, heads, and escape from a massive mechanical bird. The AI companionship with Elizabeth is rewarding, the weapons and powers are satisfyingly brutal, and the visual style defines what the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generation is capable of. This complete edition contains all Downloadable Content missions for the game, including the raved about, two episode conclusion: Burial At Sea, which, due to the events upon Bioshock Infinite’s end, allow players to return to Rapture in its aquatic prime one last time. If you missed out on this game last year, this Complete Edition is a bargain.
