10. Injustice: Gods Among Us – A blast of a fighting game in the Mortal Kombat mode that cleverly uses all of your favorite DC characters. Batman vs. The Joker, Mortal Kombat style? Yes please.
9. Pikmin 3 – A lush, gorgeous puzzle game that plays well on the series’ history while also making its mark for the new generation.
8. Lego City Undercover – An endlessly clever, zany, and hilarious open world Lego game that plays like Grand Theft Auto for kids, and it is every bit as fun as that sounds.
7. Tomb Raider – A brilliant, violent reinvention of one of the great classic adventures series.
6. Grand Theft Auto V – Shocking satire, a never ending open world, strong characterizations; months later and I’m still finding new things to do. A few frustrating missions hindered it from true greatness.
5. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD – The classic Zelda game, known for its “cartoony” imagery, has been given the polish of a lifetime. All gamers should experience this refreshed gem.
4. Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Hours and hours were spent tending to my town in this gentle and rich strategy game for the 3DS.

3. The Last of Us – Gaming storytelling reaches unparalleled heights. Emotional, terrifying, awesome.
2. Bioshock Infinite – The atmosphere and world-building alone would be enough to place this high on the list, but the ideas, incredible ending, and inventive gameplay make this a landmark achievement.
1. Super Mario 3D World – One of the very best Mario games ever made. Gorgeous HD graphics, clever and inventive level design, and the perfect blend between the old and the new. What was always great about Mario still is, and this amazing game freshens it all for the new generation.
