However, after Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS back in 2012, the handheld system that was struggling to survive became more than a repeat of the Virtual Boy back in the 90’s, and a strong following of 3DS owners are flooding the United States. How did this happen? Nintendo released great games, as well as classics available to download at great prices.
While Nintendo skipping out on a big conference at this year’s E3 seems concerning in terms of their ability to compete, all that needs to happen is for them to do what they have with the previous Nintendo Direct shows in the last year or so, and just show great games that we have to look forward to.
By far the biggest announcement of Nintendo’s today was the reveal of the fourth installment in the Super Smash Brothers saga.
As promised previously, the game will have cross compatibility between the 3DS and the Wii U editions of the game.

After the announcement, Nintendo also announced the official community site for the game will be up, and fans can check for updates on the game much like they did for Brawl on the Wii back in 2008.
The game will be released in 2014, but you can find more details soon on http://www.smashbros.com/us/
