This week our heroes briefly reconvene at the Dragon’s Dungeon Inn, only to spend the next two hours arguing.
Alexandrus and Flint finish their work for the day in Religion Row while Merit, Karnov, and Ori return from their battle with the Cult of Nakresh, carrying a hostage in tow. At the Inn, they meet a young man named Turget, who turns out to be the man they saved from the Cult earlier that morning. Turget then pledges his life to Ori’s service, believing he owes him a great debt.
From talking to Turget and interrogating their captive, the party learns more details about the Cult of Nakresh – a hidden society that is growing more zealous and believes that the old King of The Jungle has returned to seek vengeance on the royal line and reclaim the throne. And given Turget’s heartfelt story of hardship in a city run by crime lords, the party learns how many of the city’s populace could crave a restoration of order, even if it is brought by the hands of a tyrant.
But though Turget proved to be an amicable and talkative type, the other cultist most certainly is not. In handling her, the party resorts to shenanigans that must be seen to believed. Spoiler alert: they involve bread rolls and broken windows.
