Telltale Games has released a “Summer Update” video on YouTube ahead of presentations at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. In it, the studio announced three new follow ups to their popular series, including one that just a day prior was said to be nowhere in sight.
Coming later in 2017 will be a second season of Telltale’s Batman series, called The Enemy Within. As it is the title furthest along in production, there was a teaser trailer along with interviews with those involved in the title. In the teaser, we hear the Joker taunting Batman, along with indications that The Riddler will make an appearance. The revelations of the previous season regarding Bruce Wayne’s family will likely be another driving factor for tension.
Of course, Telltale is best known these days for The Walking Dead, and while A New Frontier hasn’t been done for all that long, another season is planned for 2018. Again, Clementine will be front and center for the story, but this is ominously only known as “The Final Season,” which almost certainly means less than pleasant things await for Clementine and players.
In the most surprising move, and in the vein of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets,” Telltale reunited cast and designers of The Wolf Among Us to read Twitter demands from fans for a follow up to the noir adventure inspired by the comic book Fables. Finally, years later, those pleas will be answered. The Wolf Among Us 2 will return to the fairytale-meets-reality world of Bigby Wolf sometime in 2018. The team was grateful in the video, indicating the project was greenlit based on fan demand. There is no indication that the new season will follow up on the final mysteries from the first season, but it does appear work has only just begun.
Again, Telltale is going to be at SDCC, so there may still be more information to come for these new titles later in the week. With that in mind, are you ready for more Batman and Clementine? Did you enjoy The Wolf Among Us? Are you tired of the Telltale formula? Let us know in the comments!
