- Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, Pride and Prejudice
“You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” Enough said.
- Katniss and Peeta, The Hunger Games
Team Peeta, all the way! Sure, Katniss has sparks with Gale, but to me, the real romance is with Peeta. It might not be steamy, but it’s about two people falling in love in the worst of circumstances. Two people who love each other because they need each other.
- Booth and Brennan, Bones
I love a good partners-to-romance drama, and Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth are the absolute best. Their entire romance is built upon playful jabs, indignant arguments, and day-to-day banter. They win in the opposites-attract department.
- Mary and Matthew, Downton Abbey
I could barely hold it together as Lady Mary and Matthew were thrown together and then pulled apart by war, estate entailment, other lovers, and, of course, Matthew’s middle-class manners. Their first kiss is among my favorite romantic TV moments.
- Shopgirl and NY152 (Kathleen Kelly and Joe Fox), You’ve Got Mail
IMHO, Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are a perfect match no matter how you put them together, but nothing is more swoony than their e-mail romance in You’ve Got Mail. They may be separated by bookstore wars, a few unpleasant interactions and their mutual propensity to despise each other, but watching them fall, ever-so-slowy, in love never gets old.
- Luke and Lorelei, Gilmore Girls
Between Luke’s rugged looks, sweet disposition, and permanently backwards baseball cap, and Lorelei’s spunky, snarky personality, these two were absolutely swoon-worthy.

- Steve and DJ Tanner, Full House
My favorite part of the first episode of Fuller House was definitely the way Steve still had a thing for DJ, even so many years later! Steve was a total heartthrob (and the voice of Aladdin!) and DJ was the classic nerdy girl. Sure it didn’t make total sense (and looking back, DJ really should have been with someone her intellectual equal), but as a kid, oh man were these two adorable!
- June and Day, The Legend Series
The best part about their romance is that June was totally the badass. There were so many times that she had to save Day, instead of vice-versa.
- Keith and David, Six Feet Under
Though it certainly has its flaws, Keith and David’s romance in Six Feet Under is the only one in the whole show that feels like it’s going to make it. It’s sexy and exciting but survives the tough times, too. And I love how Keith draws David out of his perfect, rule-abiding shell.
- Kelly and Zack, Saved by the Bell
The ultimate 80s/90s-kid romance. I may have cried at their hour-long-special wedding. Don’t judge.
