After a flip-flopped debate from Fox, the much anticipated Delirium series based off of the New York Times Best-Sellers book by Lauren Oliver, will not be commissioned as a series.
What was that faint noise that sounded like a thousand puppies dying? Fans. Fans all over the world wailing in protest.
Fans however will get the opportunity to live out their wildest dreams as Lena Haloway for a limited time.
Hulu will be releasing the Pilot for the Delirium series starting on June 20th, 2014. The show stars Emma Roberts as heroine and protagonist Lena Haloway, and Daren Kagasoff as hero and protagonist Alex Sheathes.
Is it just me or did anyone even really know Daren Kagasoff’s name? Seriously. When I first looked at the casting for this show all I could say is, “Oh shit, it’s Ricky from The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

That being said, although my hopes were high for this as a series, and the trailer for the pilot does show some promise, Emma Roberts as Lena Haloway was destined to suck one way or another.
Now, perhaps those of us who have read the book are EXTREMELY BIASED, or just got used to the girl on the front cover being our image of Lena, but Emma Roberts? Really? Was the rest of Hollywood busy?
Also, can anyone really say that Emma Roberts was good for anything except for this….
We’re still anticipating this pilot and all of the could have should have been’s the rest of the Tumblr-verse will be muttering.
