Tyler is 14 years old and lives in Southern California. His passion has always been for film. He’s been reviewing movies for over a year-and-a-half now under the title “Movie Kid Reviews” on his Facebook and is thrilled to now be part of The Young Folks team. In 2012, Tyler and a friend of his made a short documentary, “Free Hurt: Bullying And The First Amendment” which went on to be an Official Contender at the C-Span StudentCam 2012 Film Festival. Tyler’s idols include Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg, David Fincher, and more recently he’s taken a liking to the works of Paul Thomas Anderson. His favorite films include “Pulp Fiction”, “Back To The Future”, and “Good Will Hunting”. His hobbies include acting, screenwriting, directing, debating, and mock trial. His goal in life is to be a writer-director. You can contact him at tyler@theyoungfolks.com.

Tyler’s Movie Review: The Amazing Spider-Man

Upon walking out of the theater playing The Amazing Spider-Man, I tried to rationalize not mentioning Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy in the opening to my review. After all, as Sony Pictures and director Marc Webb have stressed since this project’s inception, the original trilogy…

Tyler’s Movie Review: Rock Of Ages

One of the hardest things to adapt to the screen, besides video games, is a musical. Sure, there have been the mega successes, a la Chicago. But for every musical best picture winner there’s a Mamma Mia! starring a most likely tone deaf Pierce…

Tyler’s Movie Review: Safety Not Guaranteed

*Warning: This Review Contains Mild Spoilers* While it has certainly been a week full of blockbusters and of course I’m anticipating the many more that are coming in the next few weeks, there’s always an indie film that will usually…

Tyler’s Movie Review: Prometheus

Despite liking-but-not-loving Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Alien, Prometheus was easily my second most-anticipated film of the year (The Dark Knight Rises is first, of course, because nothing can trump my anticipation for that). And, it was one of my most anticipated films for a…
