After Parks and Recreation ended, the cast went their separate ways, many of them finding success in other avenues. Amy Poehler lent her voice to the best animated film of the year/biggest tear spiller Inside Out, Chris Pratt is a certifiable star, and Nick Offerman has found himself on the second season of Fargo with an upcoming guest appearance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine (which I’m thrilled about) and now, it’s Aziz Ansari’s turn to step into his newest avenue with his Netflix series Master of None.
The trailer alone promises what we’ve come to know of Ansari from his always brilliant standup, a mixture of commentary on today’s culture with non-stop energy and comedy. With jokes in the trailer about sexism that aren’t sexist and jokes that comment on the state of whitewashing and racism in Hollywood, Master of None could be a breath of fresh air on the comedy landscape, and Ansari is a much welcomed voice in pop-culture.
The show will debut on November 6th and I’ll be watching, let us know if you will be too in the comments.
Check out the trailer and synopsis below.
Meet Dev (Aziz Ansari), a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life.
