Despite Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse making the biggest impressions at 20th Century Fox’s Comic-Con panel, Fox made the most of its Hall H time slot by presenting five films.
The first film was the Maze Runner sequel, The Scorch Trials. We saw an all-new trailer, which looked awesome. The director, Wes Ball, explained how the sequel will be quite a different movie from the first. The new one they showed exemplified this, showing a new horror aspect to the film series. Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Giancarlo Esposito, Rosa Salazar, and Hi Hong Lee were also there to talk about the film and their roles. Watch the full panel in the video below.
Next up was Victor Frankenstein, a film based on a new take of Mary Shelley’s classic novel. James McAvoy stars as the title role, but what’s most interesting is Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Igor–Victor’s sidekick who is his “intellectual equal.” The panel showed us a trailer and new footage, but the real delight was the funny innuendo that McAvoy and Radcliffe kept sputtering throughout the discussion. To see what I mean, watch the panel:
Fox moved into the Marvel portion of their presentation next, starting with The Fantastic Four. Due out next month, The Fantastic Four is a reboot starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell, who were all in attendance at the panel. Director Josh Trank was there to explain which version of the Fantastic Four story he’s telling with this movie. They premiered the final trailer during the panel to help build more momentum for a movie that seems to need it.
Everything we’ve seen of The Fantastic Four looks good, if not great. Here’s to hoping we get a pleasant surprise next month. Until then, you can watch the Fantastic Four panel below.
Deadpool was hands-down the best thing I saw in Hall H all of Saturday. Ryan Reynolds and company blew it out of the water with their charm, comedy, and a hell of trailer. We’ll let the hilarious panel video speak for itself, but we are seriously dying for Fox to officially release the Deadpool trailer online soon so we can watch it over and over again.

The final panel was the highly-anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse, which brought almost its entire cast to the Comic-Con stage to talk about the film and show off some new raw footage. The footage looked great for being a compilation of only five weeks of shooting. Since there were so many cast members and a short time slot, each actor briefly explained who they were playing and their favorite thing about their character. It was fun hearing from the new cast members, like Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Oscar Isaac. Take a moment to watch the X-Men panel below.
The 2oth Century Fox panel wrapped up with a super-selfie and a couple of surprise guests. Stan Lee took the stage and was quickly followed by Channing Tatum, who confirmed his role as Gambit in a new upcoming movie.
