I’m sorry, what is this superhero fatigue that you speak of?
Legends of Tomorrow is the newest CW/DC output and despite some oddly placed exposition at the start of the trailer, it looks like a hell of a good time. Wentworth Miller deserves a spin-off show, after he so excellently captured Captain Cold’s comic book persona on The Flash, and I’m excited to see Caity Lotz back in hero mode–even if now she’s donning white instead of black.
But the real two draws come from Arthur Darvill and Hawkgirl. Darvill was often times one of the most underrated parts of Matt Smith’s tenure as the Doctor on Doctor Who, and the irony of him playing a time traveler is fantastic. Beyond that, he’s super charismatic and a terrific actor (who in all honesty could potentially outshine many of the series regulars). Hawkgirl I’ve been a fan of since my pre-teen years when I ate up the Justice League Unlimited series and similarly to The Flash, have been waiting since then to see her brought to life onscreen.
Ray Palmer being on board and getting to live up to his namesake doesn’t hurt either.
Debuting mid-season it’s still quite a ways away but with this cast on board I’m sure the hype will only continue to grow. Check out the synopsis and trailer below.
When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW stars Victor Garber (“The Flash,” “Alias”); Brandon Routh (“Arrow,” “Superman Returns”); Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”); Caity Lotz (“Arrow”); Ciarra Renee (“Pippin”); Franz Drameh (“Edge of Tomorrow”); with Dominic Purcell (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”); and Wentworth Miller (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”). Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” upcoming “Pan”), Marc Guggenheim (“Arrow,” “Eli Stone,” “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”), Andrew Kreisberg (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Eli Stone,” “Warehouse 13”) and Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” upcoming “Pan”).
