Former Oasis bad boy Liam Gallagher is ready to return to the music scene, this time on his own.
After Beady Eye’s split back in 2014, we’ve heard very little from him over the past few years (unless you follow him on Twitter *wink* ) Even though he stated he would not be making a solo career, looks like he finally gave in and changed his mind, making many of his followers truly happy.
Just a few weeks ago, Gallagher released “Wall of Glass“, the first track of his upcoming first solo album, As You Were. The song, played live during the sold-out One Love Manchester benefit concert in honor of the victims of the May 22 bombing, includes a powerful drum beat joined by a harmonious harmonica and shrill guitar, making it the perfect comeback, with a little post-Oasis seasoning.
Directed by Francois Rousselet, the song’s video (which you can watch above), shows us a very-well dressed Liam Gallagher starring and singing into various sets of mirrors while the camera constantly flips and glides down a dimly lit hallway.
Whoever said Liam Gallagher couldn’t possibly write and entire album by himself was sadly mistaken. This first track is telling us the opposite with a clear criticism message on hypocrisy. While his album is practically finished, Gallagher is also getting set to go on tour this summer and making stops in festivals such as the Bergenfest in Norway, the Exit Festival in Serbia, the FIB in Spain and Lollapalooza in Paris. Will you be there?
As You Were is scheduled to be released this October. In the meantime, watch the video for “Wall of Glass” and let us know what you think in the comments below!
