The comic-book movie war is heading for its climax, and DC has made the first move.
Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for Justice League, their massive superhero team-up meant as the cornerstone of the DC Cinematic Universe. Again directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Justice League follows Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) as they assemble a group of equally-unique saviors to battle the ancient evil of Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds). The duo rope up The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) to band together and fight for the safety of the world.
The film is written by Chris Terrio, who won an Oscar with Affleck for Argo but also co-wrote the critically-mangled Dawn of Justice with David S. Goyer. This will be WB’s second superhero movie of 2017, with Gadot’s Wonder Woman set to hit theaters on June 2. The DC Cinematic Universe has been financially prosperous, but divisive amongst critics and hardcore fans. If there was ever going to be a time for WB and DC to put up or shut up against the titanic force of Marvel Studios, 2017 is definitely that time.
Justice League flies into theaters November 17. What do you think of the new trailer? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to stick with The Young Folks for all the latest movie news.
