Milo Murphy’s Law gets Main Title: Weird Al Yankovic stars in new Disney XD cartoon

AMILO1After a bit of a lull in successful cartoons on the Disney Channel, the surprise success of Phineas and Ferb in 2007 paved a new wave of exceptionally well made cartoons for Disney networks. From Gravity Falls to Wander Over Yonder, had it not been for Phineas and Ferb’s zany adventures and witty humor, who knows how much further the lull in great cartoons would have slipped. And you know you did something right when it became Disney Channel’s longest running cartoon in the network’s history, lasting an impressive eight years and beating out previous spot holder Kim Possible (which ran for five years.) So, with such a successful run of four seasons and 222 episodes, it only seems fitting that Disney would green-light another project by the same people who created Phineas and Ferb. Oh, and did we mention Weird Al Yankovic is voicing the lead character?

To those unfamiliar with the epigram, “Murphy’s Law” is the belief that “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.” Creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh saw this as the perfect opportunity to create their latest crazy character, the titular Milo Murphy, descendant of Edward A. Murphy Jr who coined the law’s ideology. Taking the ideas behind Murphy’s Law to an unhealthy extreme, the title theme indicates that Milo Murphy has a bit of a bad luck streak. Anything that could go wrong around him seems to go wrong the minute he passes by. However, with an upbeat smile on his face and a backpack at the ready, Milo’s probably dealt with this “curse” his entire life, and is ready to take on whatever the world can throw his way.

Milo Murphy’s Law is set to premiere October 3rd exclusively on Disney XD. Be sure to check out the title theme below and let us know if you’re excited for this latest Disney cartoon series. And considering the similarities between this newest show and Phineas and Ferb, there’s always a possibility the characters may make a brief crossover one day. So that’s something you should definitely keep an eye on.
