Ellis is a Brit-Pop super-hero on the rise. She just released her debut song in early February 2014 and she’s already gaining radio-play on BBC Radio London. But, no surprise there, Ellis’s upcoming 4-song EP was produced by OD Hunte, who has recently worked with the likes of Emilie Sande and Leona Lewis.
Ellis sings with a similar soul-pop feel. Her debut song, “Favorite Girl” is the perfect tune for a spring break playlist or readying for the summer. “Favorite Girl” is a sugary sweet pop hit. The repetition of the core lyrics make singing along all too easy and a Motown-vibe makes the beat perfect for dancing alongside a pool.
19 year-old Ellis is only beginning to show her musical chops. We can’t wait to see what her 4-song pop EP brings. Will she be the next Lily Allen? Lorde? We’ll just have to wait and see.
