Coming fresh off of another season of The Bachelorette, we are once again on the sandy beaches of Playa Escondida in Vallarta-Nayarit, Mexico for a fifth year of the drama-filled, and arguably the best franchise of, The Bachelor: Bachelor in Paradise.
This season brings a handful of past bachelors and bachelorettes to kick off their time in Mexico, including: Angela Amezcua (Bachelor 21: Nick’s Season), Annaliese Puccini (Bachelor 22: Arie’s Season), Astrid Loch (Bachelor 21), Bibiana Julian (Bachelor 22, Bachelor Winter Games), Chelsea Roy (Bachelor 22), Chris Randone (Bachelorette 14: Becca’s Season), Connor Obrochta (Bachelorette 14), David Ravitz (Bachelorette 14), Eric Bigger (Bachelorette 13: Rachel’s Season), Joe Amabile (Bachelorette 14), John Graham (Bachelorette 14), Jordan Kimball (Bachelorette 14), Kendall Long (Bachelor 22), Kenny Layne (Bachelorette 13), Kevin Wendt (Bachelor Winter Games), Krystal Nielson (Bachelor 22), Nick Spetsas (Bachelorette 14), Wills Reid (Bachelorette 14), Nysha Norris (Bachelor 22), Colton Underwood (Bachelorette 14), and Tia Booth (Bachelor 22).
As people trickled onto the beach and the drinks started to flow, relationships began to form. Various couples started to click, but one person’s experience stood out the most on day one: Tia.
For Tia, while she was surrounded by many attractive men, she was disappointed to learn that Colton was not one of the original people coming to Paradise. All she did in the beginning was talk about Colton and the fact he wasn’t there.
Lucky for Tia, Grocery Store Joe started to hit her up. It seemed that lovable Joe was interested in her and could easily take her mind off Colton. However, she received the first date card of Paradise and she didn’t want it. But after talking herself up she decided to put Colton behind her and go forward with her date.
In a surprising move, she chose to take Chris on the date instead of Joe. She tells Chris that she chose him because she’s put Colton behind her (mhmm) and that if it was meant to be it would’ve worked by this point.
Their date went great and even the next morning Chris and Tia were kissing on the beach. The entire cast was happy to see Tia officially moving on from Colton until the man himself walked onto the beach.
Oh Paradise, you never cease to amaze me with your awful timing.

After speaking with some of the girls, Colton ultimately chose to take Tia on his date. While Tia and Colton had a good date where they discussed their relationship, Chris, along with Jordan and Nick, started to prepare to rage a war against the former NFL football player.
Buckle up folks, Paradise is back.
