Black Badge is gone for good. They’ve ghosted the team and decided that the Ghost River Triangle is not worth the hassle. That makes no sense seeing as that they were so convinced on sticking around in the beginning. They even introduced Moody, and now they up and sent him away. They also dropped the interesting tidbit that Black Badge was never funded by the government, so who was backing them? We may never know.
The Widows prove to be clever villains. They’re not as powerful as they want to be, but they managed to get Hypno to put the town to sleep for a month. They found and broke the second seal. They also took down half the team with some sort of ice or paralysis breath. For demons not at full power they seem to be doing fine. The Stone Witch is now dead, so it seems like their only choice is to get Juan Carlo to help them, which isn’t exactly his thing. Plus he seems to be on the good. We’ll have to see what they do next.
Since we’re talking about the Garners, we should discuss Tucker. He’s a full-on creep. He has an obsession with Waverly and tried to make Poppy become her for his pleasure. Let’s not forget that he completely shook off getting shot and jumped out of a window only to go and find The Stone Witch and cut off her head. There’s something wrong with that boy.
One of the most intriguing parts of this episode was Hypno and Poppy. Hypno was apparently a demon that was hibernating and had the power to put the town to sleep for a month. Why was he in Purgatory? Why was he sleeping? Why was he so powerful? Since Poppy’s his daughter does she have his powers too? How did no one know that they were there all that time? Unfortunately, these questions will never be answered and that’s a fault on the show.
Hypno’s death was completely random and forced. Dolls was way too angry to make rational decisions, and Wynonna should have made a choice for herself. Instead she up and killed the poor demon who wasn’t even bothering anyone. All he wanted to do was sleep. Not to mention that he didn’t even get to see his daughter again.
I’m still not a fan of the whole baby plot, but it’s a good thing they’re not stretching it too far out. Wynonna is already a lot farther along thanks to Hypno. The final scene where she was crying about how her life wasn’t fair and how she’s not ready to be a mother was great. It really shows what kind of head space she’s in. The only issue is that now her and Dolls are back to square one, where he’s the strict mean boss and she’s just his subordinate. Doc also said that he’s all in so the show is shipping them again.
Lastly, it’s cool that Peacemaker woke Wynonna up, but why did it take so long to do it. Also, what else can the gun do? Let’s not forget that we got introduced to The Order last week, but they were nowhere to be found. Do they not know how to deal with magic sleep spells?
