First Trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse

By now you’ve all probably seen the trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, so let’s chat for a second about it.

  • Was Rose Byrne’s character brought back solely for exposition purposes?
  • Is Sansa Stark going to deliver a good American accent? Jury’s out, but I’m still pumped she’s Jean.
  • We all have to be ready for a Storm who is badass right?
  • In general I’m very excited for all the young versions of the mutant characters-Jean, Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler…if they’re going to keep messing with the timeline of the movie universe, they might as well have some fun with it.
  • Speaking of fun-the 80s’ costumes.
  • Is Mystique a hero again? I can’t keep up.
  • Charles is once again going to be tossed through the emotional wringer and then he looses his hair…leave the poor guy alone.
  • Oscar Isaac is going to kill it.

In all seriousness, the trailer is a whole lot of insanity pumped into a two and a half minute trailer, and while I still believe that the X:Men movies leave something to be desired, the cast is fantastic and the storyline looks thrilling.

Let us know what you thought of the trailer and check out the official synopsis and trailer below along with some screenshots.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
