‘Wonder Woman’ Film Loses Director Michelle MacLaren

Whelp, looks like Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s new Wonder Woman film has hit its first snag- and it’s a big one.

The film’s director Michelle MacLaren has exited production due to creative differences. Warner Bros. has issued a statement regarding the situation:

“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct ‘Wonder Woman’ together”.

MacLaren is an experienced TV showrunner and director with credits on Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead. Wonder Woman would have been her first feature film to direct.

Since the movie is still in pre-production, it is unclear how detrimental MacLaren’s exit will be to the rest of the process. The film is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017.

Gal Gadot is still attached to the film to star.

(Did you know that Robert Downey Jr. auditioned to be Daniel in "The Karate Kid"?) Along with a passion for books (specifically YA) and anything that has to do with pop culture, she is obsessed with Downton Abbey, Disney, glitter, Lana Del Rey, and 90's teen movies. She spends her spare time writing short stories and scouring the internet for new books to add to her never-ending wish list on Amazon. She hopes to one day work in the entertainment industry.
