Woody Harrelson is now officially apart of the Star Wars Galaxy. While rumors had spread close to a month ago stating that Harrelson was in contract talks for the film, Lucasfilm officially announced his casting earlier today.

Most known for his roles in such films and TV series as Cheers, True Detective, Kingpin, The Hunger Games and this year’s upcoming War of the Planet of the Apes, Harrelson joins an already promising cast in Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), and Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame in an undisclosed role.

The role that Harrelson will play was also kept under wraps, but the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had high praise for their new star saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody. His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique.”

The as-yet-untitled Han Solo film is set to begin filming this February with a release date set for May 25, 2018.

So who do you think Woody Harrelson will play in the film? My money is on him playing another smuggler or bounty hunter that may deal in the trade of rare galactic species such as Wookies. What do you think? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.
